AlexaNDER MCQUEEN | Mariya Pepelanova

Mariya Pepelanova, born in Bulgaria, based between Copenhagen and Paris is a multidisciplinary artist working between photography and digital art. Pepelanova’s artistic approach blends old and new mediums to invite viewers into a world where the past meets the future. She focuses on both the digital and analog aspects found in contemporary art, fashion, and photography. Her style and works present understanding of composition, framing, as well as the tactile dimensions and potentials in digital photography. In fashion photography, she has worked for clients including Balmain, Vogue Scandinavia, Marine Serre, Samsøe Samsøe, and her photography and artwork for the French house Balmain was nominated in 2022 by The Impression NYC for best creative accessories campaign. She attended RAMPEN (Copenhagen Film and Photography School) and assisted Bo Egestroem.
